What children can practice

Letter knowledge, spelling, vocabulary, and understanding short clues. Sound awareness, phonics, and extended reading comprehension are distinct broader goals.

What children do

Word Workshop has 36 levels using 30 English words, including six two-object projects. Choose partial-letter help, independent spelling, or a reading clue. Make an object, pick it up, and use it to change the scene.

Why we designed it this way

Connecting a word to its use gives spelling a purpose. Phonological awareness means noticing speech sounds; phonics connects sounds to written letters. Vocabulary concerns meaning, while comprehension concerns understanding text. This game is not a systematic phonics course or reading assessment.
