Clay Critters

Opening the clay workshop…

How to play

Clay Critters is an open-ended digital clay workshop. The same editable artwork travels from the workbench to a stage, into your library, and back to the workbench.

  1. Choose a support level, then an invitation or Free Create. Every tool and invitation stays open.
  2. Select a body part. Squish, stretch, bend, attach a part, or press a pattern. Drag or use the parameter controls, and undo whenever you like.
  3. Try your creation in a garden, rainy courtyard, or moonlight display. Return to the same artwork to make changes.
  4. Save versions, reopen a creation, compare changes, or export an actual picture. A grown-up can enable this game’s independent device library.

What you can practice

Explore shape, proportion, surface patterns and personal design choices. There is no required appearance, timer, creativity score or ability judgement.

Choosing a starting point

Four optional support choices cover ages 3–4, 5–6, 7–9 and 10–12. Younger children may explore alongside a grown-up. These are design suggestions, not measured ability levels.

Questions about this game

Are there 48 levels?

No. There are twelve creative invitations across Shape, Character and Showtime, plus Free Create. Four support choices do not make additional levels.

Where do my creations go?

By default they stay in memory for this visit. A grown-up can enable the separate local IndexedDB library. No artwork, title or notes are uploaded.

Does the game judge my creativity?

No. Parent observations describe actual tool use and edits. Open-ended creations have no numerical creativity or ability score.
