Pond Pals

Preparing the pond…

How to play

Look above and below a woodland pond in a finite teaching simulation. Twelve missions and free observation invite you to explore animals, plants, movement, and changing views.

  1. Choose an observation path, view, and area. All missions stay open.
  2. Use Observe to inspect the selected area. Magnify reveals details; Camera saves the exact observed state.
  3. Compare saved photos, explain a discovery, and revisit your own evidence in My Journal.

What you can practice

Opportunities to observe, compare, predict, and revise explanations. Activity records describe specific tasks; they are not ability scores.

Choosing a starting point

Ages 3–4 can explore together, 5–6 follow clues, 7–9 connect evidence, and 10–12 examine competing explanations. These are optional paths, never age gates.

Does Camera use my device camera?

No. It saves a snapshot of the simulated pond only.

How long does a dragonfly take to change?

This game uses selected time-lapse checkpoints. It does not claim that real development takes a few seconds.

Where are discoveries saved?

They remain in memory unless a grown-up enables this game’s independent local saving. Nothing is uploaded. Parent settings can delete only Pond Pals data.
