Opening the greenhouse…

Sprout Lab: A Little Greenhouse for Big Questions

Plant a question. Grow a discovery.

How to play

Join Pip in a warm greenhouse for eight experiments or Free Greenhouse. Set water and light, advance simulated time, and compare visible plant changes. This is a simplified teaching simulation, not real plant-care advice.

  1. Choose any of eight experiments or Free Greenhouse. Age paths suggest different starting tasks without locking content.
  2. Set the allowed conditions, then run the experiment. Time moves through simulated checkpoints without real waiting.
  3. Open Look to inspect roots, stems, leaves and soil at the start and finish. Choose evidence that matches your plants.
  4. Save a real discovery, revisit it in your book, or start a new experiment with different conditions.

What you can practice

Practice observing changes, comparing one condition, repairing a fair test, and limiting claims to the evidence. Predictions and free play are not scored.

Choosing a starting point

Ages 3–4 can plant and find roots with an adult. Ages 5–6 compare water and light; 7–9 explore fair tests and multiple plant features; 10–12 examine simulated samples and evidence limits.

Questions about this game

Are these real growing times?

No. This is a finite teaching model of bean plants, not a calculator for real plants or watering amounts.

Does it create a science ability score?

No. The inquiry tasks are pilot activities without enough independent items per goal for an OKG-LAS challenge. No long-term trend is produced.

Where are discoveries saved?

In this browser only, in a separate Sprout Lab key. The in-game parent panel can export or delete this game’s discoveries.
