Word Workshop: English Word Building Game

Build English words and use your creations to help Pip.

Make useful things with Fixi and Pip. Plant, play, tidy up, and get ready for a garden celebration!

How to play

Build a word, make an object, and use it to help Pip. Word Workshop gives familiar English words a purpose through hands-on projects, from making a hat to preparing a little garden camp.

  1. Choose Build Together for partial letters, Build on Your Own for independent spelling, or Read & Build to begin with a clue and object choices. Every mode and chapter stays open.
  2. Arrange the lowercase letters in the slots. Repeated letters are separate pieces. Optional hints and spoken help are available; completing the spelling creates an object.
  3. Pick up the object, choose where it belongs, and operate it to change the scene. Spelling alone never completes a level.
  4. Explore 36 levels using 30 words. Six projects require two objects: finish using the first creation, then build the second while the first result remains in the scene.

What you can practice

Explore lowercase letters, the spelling of familiar three-to-five-letter words, vocabulary, and short written clues. Connecting an object to its use makes meaning visible. This is not a systematic phonics course or a reading assessment.

Choosing a starting point

Suggested ages are 5–9. Adult help is welcome. Start with partial letters if letter recognition or spelling is new, then try independent building or reading clues when comfortable. Age recommendations never restrict a mode.
